Our Team of Volunteers

  • Jessica Jane Charleston

I’m an artist with a studio in Cooper’s Yard where I have delighted in the open studios events over the last few years. Very happy to see behind the scenes on this year’s Open House!

  • Glen Keegan

Words & Pictures Ltd has been a staple in Crystal Palace since 1981. I joined the company in 1995, dedicating nearly 30 years to working in the Triangle and the last five years living here as well. My passion for community involvement runs deep—I’ve supported the CP Festival and have been a part of the Artist Open House from its inception. I relish the vibrant atmosphere, the lively buzz, and the opportunity to explore and connect with all the incredible art and artists.

  • Ewelina Skowronska

As a painter and visual artist, I’ve returned to Crystal Palace after 8 years in Japan. I’m inspired by the area’s transformation and believe in art's power to positively impact communities. Participating in CP Artist Open House feels like a natural step

  • Liz Stovell

I’ve lived in London most of my life and was always looking for that elusive community spirit. I’ve genuinely found it in Crystal Palace and the creative community here is like no other. I have been on the volunteer team every year we have done the CP Artist Open House, because I strongly believe in the importance of creativity and community. The open house is the highlight of my year as I get the honor to help bring it to life and also showcase my own work to local art lovers.

  • Paula Williams

I love being part of our CP community village and I am excited to help support this event. As a local emerging neurodivergent artist, I am proud to be exhibiting my paintings for the first time at the CP Artists' Open House.

  • Gavin Rookledge

I am an Artisan and am proud to have been working in The Triangle since the late 80s; initially at the Artists Cooperative and now in Coopers Yard Studios which I founded in 1998.

I also live in Crystal Palace and all three of my children have gone to school here.

I am passionate about the vibrant creativity within our local community and have continually and consistently strived to help nurture it and encourage it to flourish here

  • Philip Hewson

I’m a painter, living and working in the Crystal Palace triangle since 2020 - but I've known and vistied Crystal Palace since 1990. My work explores themes and ideas of masculinity and sexual identity through retold myth and allegory.

Philip is also hosting and sponsoring Luka Gille, aka PinkWolf, to take part in the event.

  • Amélie Genestine-Charlton

Crystal Palace is the first place a have lived where I really felt at home, here I have found such a vibrant creative community and the perfect place to set up my bookbinding studio in Cooper’s Yard amongst some really wonderful people. Being part of the CP Artist Open House is such a great opportunity to get to know more of local creatives and to give back to this wonderful community.

  • Jenny Espirito Santo

I've been showing my work at Crystal Palace Artists’ Open House for a few years now, and I love how vibrant the community is. This year, I'm excited to volunteer to help organise it! For me, this is about celebrating all creative voices, especially those from the Black and queer artist community, to ensure our rich and diverse perspectives are celebrated.

I’m a public relations specialist and freelance journalist based in Westwood Hill, a stones throw from the Palace. A local south London girl born and bred - I am passionate about the area and community and fervently produce South East London Blog where I create cultural features and interviews on artists and creative thinkers. I happily run my own independent business, specialising in providing strategic public relations, marketing and business administration advice to independent and creative businesses.
